Privacy Policy Last updated: October 1, 2026 Pocket Ledger ("the app," "we," "our") is a personal budget and expense tracker built by Syed Kamran Abbas Zaidi. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. Summary We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Pocket Ledger does not run its own servers and has no access to your transactions, budgets, or account details. Your data stays on your device and, if you enable sync, in your own personal iCloud account. How Your Data Is Stored All financial information you enter — transactions, budgets, categories, and reminders — is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data is also synced through Apple's CloudKit service, using your personal iCloud account. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure. We do not operate any servers of our own, and we cannot see, access, or download your data at any time. Shared Groups Pocket Ledger lets you share a budget group with other people you invite, such as friends or family. When you do this, the expenses and group details you choose to share become visible to the people you've invited to that specific group, through Apple's CloudKit Sharing. This information is only visible to members of the group you create and is not accessible to us or to anyone outside that group. Subscriptions and Payments Pocket Ledger Premium is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details. Apple's own privacy practices govern this information; see Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy. Notifications If you turn on reminders, Pocket Ledger schedules local notifications directly on your device using iOS's built-in notification system. No notification content or reminder data is sent to us or to any third party. Analytics and Advertising Pocket Ledger does not use third-party analytics services, does not display advertising, and does not share information with advertisers or data brokers. Children's Privacy Pocket Ledger is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we do not collect any personal data through the app in the first place, no child-specific data is gathered. Your Rights and Choices Because your data lives in your own iCloud account rather than on any server we control, you are always in control of it. You can: Delete any transaction, budget, or group from within the app at any time. Remove the app to delete all locally stored data from your device. Manage or turn off iCloud sync for Pocket Ledger from your device's Settings app. Manage or cancel your Premium subscription anytime under Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Changes to This Policy If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
